Timothy D Copeland wrote a sympathy message

“I recall like it was yesterday reviewing Marshall's application packet at the Sheriff's Office and thinking how very qualified he was and hoping we would complete the employment selection process in sufficient time that we would be the first agency to offer him a job. Marshall did not disappoint. He was a man of impeccable character and judgment. I worked with him at both the Pitt County Sheriff's Office and the Pitt Area Transit System. He was a Christian gentleman and will be sorely missed.”
