He is survived by: his wife Wanda Spencer Thigpen; his sister-in-law Patricia Armitage (Bill) of Farmville; his niece Michele Cox (Glenn) of Wilson; his great-nephew Kyle Cox (Teresa) of Rocky Mount; his great-niece Kaitlin Cox (Tylon Hodges) of Greenville; his siblings-in-law, Graham Spencer (Sharon), Merita Spencer and Carl Spencer (Elaine) of Fairfield, NC; his aunts, Dorothy Baker of Raleigh and Lois Harris of Greenville; and his uncle Guy Owens of Wilson. He is also survived by numerous other nephews and nieces.
