It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Aileen Gardner Higgins (Fountain, North Carolina), who passed away on April 18, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid Aileen farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Aileen is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Linda Gardner and Clifton Gardner; and her husband Joseph Patrick Higgins. She is survived by: her daughter Norma (Peter Stilwell) of Pinehurst, NC; her grandsons, Andrew Stilwell (Dana) of Huntersville, NC and J. T. Stilwell of Pinehurst; and her caregivers, Lupe, Karen, Dianne and Mary.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Former Fountain Presbyterian Church (5851 E Lang St, Fountain, NC 27829).
