Smoot-Hairston; his stepson Bracey Shamar Hodges of Winston-Salem, NC; his goddaughter Ronica S. McPhee (Aubrey); and his friends, Robert Oakes (Debra) of Winston-Salem, NC and Al Cross (Toni). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
