He is survived by: his wife Lavonne Hester; his children, Bambi Hester of Forest City, Lisa Matthews (Robbie) of Forest City, Maddie Hester of Hickory and Ricky Hester, Jr. of Nashville, TN; his stepmother Geraldine Hester of Rutherfordton; his siblings, Eric Hester (Christy) of Harris, Sammy Hester (Mim) of Forest City and Charlene Johnson (Doug) of Forest City; and his grandchildren, Noah Matthews, Jonah Matthews and Avery Suhy. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
