He was predeceased by: his parents, Wrenn Howard Smith and Louise Bland Smith Blanton; his stepfather Everett Blanton; and his brother Pat Smith. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Walker Smith; his son Wrenn Smith (Melissa) of Huntersville, NC; his stepdaughter Lori F. Barrett (Joey) of Waco, NC; his grandchildren, Dr. Cody Barrett (Kerry) of Belmont, NC, Haley Hoyle (Taylor) of Boiling Springs, NC, Tanner Smith of Huntersville and Sabrina Smith of Huntersville; his great grandchild Declan Hoyle; and his sisters-in-law, Dr. Rhonda W. Mack of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Patricia Smith of Forest City. He is also survived by two nephews, and three nieces.
