He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Archie Kimbrell and Lillian Phillips Kimbrell; his wife Juanita Kimbrell; his son Jeff Kimbrell; and his siblings, Joe Kimbrell, Tommy Kimbrell, Kenneth "Babe" Kimbrell and Nancy Waters.
He is survived by: his sons, James Edward Kimbrell, Jr. (Teresa) of Forest City and Jerry Lee Kimbrell (Tammy) of Forest City; his brother Earl Kimbrell of Sandy Mush; his grandchildren, Jason Kimbrell (Amy), Christopher Kimbrell, Ashley Hayes (Rob), Josh Ervin (Heather), Jeremy Ervin (Shana), Jonathan Kimbrell, Casey McFarland (John) and Taylor Hawkins (Nicolas); and his pet Brownie.
