She was predeceased by: her parents, George Columbus Black and Lillie Mae Brooks Black; her husband Walter L. Smith; her son Jerry Wayne Smith; and her brother James William Black.
She is survived by: her sisters, Sara Bradley (Bruce) of Ellenboro and Rita Waters (Ronald) of Ellenboro; and her uncle Forest Melton of Bostic.
