He was predeceased by: his parents, Fate Black and Rubye Glance Black; his wife Phillis S. Black; and his son Kevin F. "Bubba" Black. He is survived by: his daughter Beverly Black; his children-in-law, Greg Mode and Tami Black of Forest City; his siblings, Doug Black (Irene) of Brevard and Ivagene Parham (Kenneth) of Asheville; his granddaughter Dana Cortor (Mark) of Forest City; and his great grandchildren, Ona Robertson, Trinity Robertson, Andrew Cortor and Savannah Cortor.
