We are sad to announce that on October 13, 2023, at the age of 89, Grady Newell Pope of Forest City, North Carolina, born in Cherryville, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Pope and Iva Dellinger Pope; and his brother Airman James D. Pope. He is survived by: his wife June Heasley Pope; his sons, James Dirk Pope of Forest City and Bryan Lee Pope (Lisa) of Forest City; his sister Dorothy Lingerfelt of Cherryville; and his grandchildren, Kiersten Pope, Andrew Pope and Gavin Pope.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made to the First United Methodist Church, 341 East Main Street, Forest City, North Carolina 28043 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Post Office Box 336, Forest City, North Carolina 28043.
