It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Toms of Forest City, North Carolina, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, who passed away on August 31, 2020, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her stepdaughter Paula Jean Durrette; and her siblings, Dorothy Selby, Vera Weyer, Eunice Feather, Bertha Odom, Sara Harsh and Arthur "Art" Ellery.
She is survived by: her sons, Charles A. Gehring (Janice) of Mount Dora, Darryl B. Gehring (Suzn) of Billings and Terry A. Gehring (Alice) of Crystal River, Florida; and her stepsons, Jerry Toms (Annette) of Liberty and Richard Toms (Tammy) of Chesapeake, Virginia.. She is also survived by Five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
