She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Weldon Waters and Mary Clonch Waters; and her brother Michael Alan Waters. She is survived by: her husband Rev. Charles Battle; her children, Kyra Bumgarner (Charlie) of Sandy Mush and Matthew Charles Battle of Forest City; her siblings, Darja Leonhardt of Cary and Charles Benjamin Leonhardt III of Morganton; and her grandchildren, Isobel Battle, Brantley Bumgarner and Levi Bumgarner.
