He is survived by: his wife Lovie McCoy Mitchell; his children, Tina McCoy of Forest City, Latonya McCoy, Marcus Mitchell (Elizabeth) of Shelby, Hugh McCoy of West Virginia, David McCoy of Forest City and Deondray McCoy; his sisters, Elizabeth Mitchell of Kings Mountain and Edna Mae Mitchell of Providence; and his friends, William Ross and Ollie Barksdale. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
