He is survived by: his wife Joann Mellon; his children, Danny Eckard of Reidsville, NC, Joseph Conner of Forest City, Jeremy Coffey of Forest City and Shannon Eckard of Hickory, NC; and his stepdaughter Joy Terry of Forest City. He is also survived by brothers and sisters as well as four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
