He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Strickland and Vitta Nathlee Moore Strickland; and his siblings, Rosie Merrill, Frank Kirkpatrick and J. E. Kirkpatrick.
He is survived by: his wife Jodie Louise Minnick Strickland; his children, Jeannie Strickland of Marion, Crystal Landis of Marion, Bill Strickland (Erica) of Morganton, Misty Strickland (Matt) of Forest City, Brandy Clough (Eric) of Morganton and Jamie Phillips of Forest City; his stepdaughters, Julie Jennemann (Stephen) of Laurens, SC and Kristy Smith (Carl) of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Amy, Jessie, Alivia, Haden, Devon, Jordan, Skylar, Addilynn, Lucy, Clarie and Griffin; his great grandchild Brayden; and his siblings, Juanita Rudicil (Ed) of Fairview, Dorothy Conner (Keith) of Lake Lure, Jackie Strickland of Marion, Harmon Strickland (Pam) of Marion, Charles Strickland (Theresa) of Marion, Jimmy Strickland of Marion and Gary Howard (Tonya). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
