It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Funchess (Forest City, North Carolina), who passed away on June 11, 2019, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father Jacob "Paul" Cain; her grandmother Viola Martin Cain; her brother Howard Hearn; her great grandchildren, Elealeh Faith Reitz and Timothy J. Funchess; her nephews, Kent Hearn and Rusty Cain; her husband Edward "Gene" Funchess; her brother Paul W. Cain (Dilys); her sons, Tim Funchess (Elsa) of Carlsbad, NM, Lanny J. Funchess (Laura) of Cliffside, NC, Danny Funchess (Mary Ann) of Forest City, NC and Howard Funchess (Mandy) of Albuquerque, NM; her grandchildren, Paul Funchess (Christie), Daniel Funchess, Jennifer Funchess, Hannah Reitz (Jacob), Kent Funchess, Autumn Dallas (Kenny), Caleb Funchess (Connie), Abigail Carlson (Clay), Addyson Funchess, Chad Funchess, Summer Funchess and Carson Funchess; and her nieces, Kay Roper (Terry) of Carlsbad, NM and Kellie Moore of Houston. She was also cherished by many extended family and friends.
