It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betsy Norma Fields of Forest City, North Carolina, born in Dante, Virginia, who passed away on June 28, 2020, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James O'Dell and Lena Boris Breeding; and her husband James H. "Smokey" Fields, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Dennis Fields (Lisa) of Forest City and James Matthew Fields (Brenda) of Castlewood, Virginia; her grandchildren, Tabitha Mayo (Amanda), Daniel Mayo (Lisa), Josh Fields (Shawnah), Chris Fields and Amanda Fields Phillips (Zach); her great grandchildren, Nathaniel Shane Mayo, Kaleb Mayo, Emma Mayo, Madi Fields, Kaylee Fields, Isabella Phillips and Elijah James Phillips; and her siblings, Johnny Breeding of St. Paul, Ricky Breeding of St. Paul, George Breeding of Castlewood, Virginia and Shirley Hess of Lebanon, Virginia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, a Graveside Service and Interment for Betsy Norma Fields will be conducted at 1:00 p. m., Thursday, July 2, 2020, in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Ralph Sproles officiating.
