She was predeceased by: her parents, George Pinkney Toms and Eula Edgerton Toms; her husband Marvin William "Monk" Smith; and her siblings, Mary Langston, Worth Toms and Grace Philbeck.

She is survived by: her son Michael Smith of Forest City; and her sister Ruth Toms Hodge of Forest City. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
