He was predeceased by: his parents, William L. Upton Jr. and Virgie T. Upton; and his brother Boyce Upton. He is survived by: his wife Myra Brooks; his daughters, Amelia Upton of Forest City, NC and Maggie Upton of Ellenboro, NC; and his sister Brenda Upton of Henrietta.
