She was predeceased by: her parents, William Paul Herring and Dorothy Biddy Herring; and her stepfathers, Sylvester Holt, William "Bill Harvey, Rev. Amos Herring, William Lee Herring, Frankie Herring and Pat Gilbert.
She is survived by: her sons, Anthony Herring of Forest City and Robert Carson (Amy) of Forest City; her close friend John Carson; her sisters, Pauline Givens of Forest City and Lillian Holt of Forest City; and her grandchildren, James Harris, Allen Harris, Michael Carson and Abbie Carson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Harrelson Funeral Home, 1251 US Highway 221a, Forest City, NC 28043 to help defray funeral costs.
