He was predeceased by: his parent James Lloyd Ward Sr.. He is survived by: his parent Laura Emily Ward; his wife Carrie Ann Hare Ward; his children, Lauren Grace Ward and Casone Scott Ward; and his brothers, Bryan Dean McHone, Christopher McHone, James Ward Jr., Casey Donald Ward and Timothy Nicholas Ward. He is also survived by twelve nieces and nine nephews.

In lieu of flowers, his family graciously asks that memorial donations be made to a fund which will be established for Lauren and Casone's education.
