He was predeceased by: his father Clate Loftin; his son Joseph Kirby Loftin; and his sisters, Hazel Burrell, Eloise Meadows and Azile McLaurin.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Howell Loftin; his sons, Jon Loftin (Rebecca) and Jeff Loftin (Donna); his grandchildren, Lanier, Suzannah, Victoria, Madison and Nicholas; and his siblings, Frank Loftin and Murlene Boliek.
