He was predeceased by: his wife June Bonds Moose. He is survived by: his children, Paula Moose Ehrhardt (Michael) of Concord and Russell E. Moose (Jenny) of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren, Vance McGee IV, Micah McGee, Blake Stacy, Gavin Moose, Ethan Moose, Brandon Burris and Samantha Burris; and his brother John Moose of Concord. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
