He was predeceased by: his parents, Norwood Godwin Jones Sr. and Ruth Yates Jones. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Jones; his children, Norwood Godwin Jones III (Armida) of Smithfield, Matthew Brett Jones of Smithfield and Emily Elizabeth Jones of Charlotte; and his siblings, Paula Narron of Smithfield and Stephen Jones of Raleigh.

“I was heartbroken to learn of Woody's passing. I spent many weekends at his home growing up, riding horses, going to the pool, playing football, etc. Us 2 were the only Baltimore Colts fans around.
