He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. Hardin and Emma Carlton Hardin; and his siblings, EJ Hardin, Roland Hardin, Rex Hardin, Ronda Hardin, Charles Hardin, Hugh Hardin, Ella Mae Baird, Louise Lynch and Ginger Hardin.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Blackburn Hardin; his daughter Mary Ritter (J. Bruce Ritter, Jr.) of Gibsonville, NC; his brothers, Guy Hardin of Bossier City, LA and George Baxter "Bud" Hardin (JoAnn) of Fleetwood; and his granddaughter Rachel Ritter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
