He is survived by: his sons, Johnny Wayne Ellison of Boone and Donald David Ellison of Boone; and his siblings, Tempie Woodring (Howard) of Boone, Pansy Ross (Dean) of Boone, Bonnie Potter of Hickory, Robert Ellison (Shirley) of Boone, Charlie Ellison of Boone and George Ellison (Rachel) of Mountain City. He is also survived by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
