He was predeceased by: his parents, John Leo Capps, Sr. and Nina Osteen VanDorn; his wife Phyllis Capps; his brother Ted Capps; and his granddaughter Haley Marie Capps.
He is survived by: his sons, Barry Capps (Christina) and Todd Capps; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Capps, Sela Capps, Cameron Capps and Nolan Capps; and his sister Ann Carland (Charles) of Tennessee. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's honor may be made to Four Seasons Compassion for Life.
