He was predeceased by: his father JT Laws; and his brothers, Stewart Laws, Pete Laws, Roger Laws and Larry Laws.

He is survived by: his mother Ada Laws of Lenoir; his daughters, Sherry Whisnant (Tim) of Granite Falls and Samantha Osborne (Jeremy) of Boomer; his grandchildren, Austin Whisnant (Chelsea), Joshua Osborne (Jessica), Logan Whisnant (Amelia), Alexis Whisnant and Bryson Osborne; his great grandchildren, Braxton Osborne and Copelyn Whisnant; and his siblings, Doug Laws of Ferguson, Lonnie Dale Lackey (Debbie) of Lenoir, Steve Laws (Lisa) of Ruffin, Juanita Wheatley (Calvin) of Millers Creek, Glenda Richardson of Lenoir, Annette Huffman of Hickory, Dwight Laws of Lenoir, Jason Laws (Maryann) of Boomer, David Laws of Lenoir and Loretta Hall (Todd) of Hudson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the West End Baptist Church (3186 NC-268, Wilkesboro, NC 28697). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
