He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar McNeil and Gladys Hawkins McNeil; his wife Selma Elledge McNeil; his daughter Pamela Gay McNeil; and his brothers, John McNeil and Stanley McNeil.
He is survived by: his sons, Stephen L. McNeil (Betty Jo) of Ferguson, Gary D. McNeil and Richard G. McNeil of Ferguson; and his siblings, Violet Joines of Hickory, Muriel Walker (Danny) of Ferguson, Patrick McNeil (Suzanne) of Wilkesboro, Clark McNeil (Irene) of Ferguson and Earl McNeil of Purlear. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
