She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther O. Smith and Izzie Hughes Smith; her husband Douglas Hugh McDonald; her son Walter Hershel Hewett; her son-in-law Howard "Butch" Mason; and her brother William Delbert Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Luther Christopher Hewett (Betty Joe) of Leland, Kenneth Marshall Hewett (Marion) of Leland, Robert Douglas McDonald of Fayetteville, William Allen McDonald (Sally) of Fayetteville and Teresa McDonald Mason of Fayetteville; and her daughter-in-law Betty Hewett of Palm Bay, Florida. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and 25 great great grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
