He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Elizabeth Coleman McDonald and Thomas Jefferson McDonald; his wife Patricia Hamilton McDonald; his children, Wendi D. McDonald, Thomas Wayne McDonald, Jr. (Candace Pope) of Coats, NC and Trevor Wayne McDonald; his grandchildren, Hailey Morgan McDonald and Tyler Wayne McDonald; his siblings, Ronald Coleman McDonald (Debra McDonald) and Connie McDonald Hawley (Ken Hawley) of Godwin, NC; his siblings-in-law, Ernest Hamilton (Margaret Hamilton) of Pittsboro, NC and Gail Hamilton of Virginia; and also Wayne. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 from 12:15 PM to 1:45 PM at the Rogers and Breece Funeral Home (500 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28301). A burial was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 1:45 PM at the Lafayette Memorial Park (6701 Raeford Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28304). A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Rogers and Breece Chapel (500 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28301).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, or St. Jude Children's Hospital in Wayne's honor.
