With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert William Stephens of Fayetteville, North Carolina, born in Cumberland, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 4, 2024 at the age of 92. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie M. Stephens and Mary Hare Stephens; his wife Lena Carter Stephens; and his sisters, Frances Powell and Peggy Royal.
He is survived by: his son Wayne Black (Barbara); his grandchildren, Jimmy Black (Karen) and Wendy Black; his great grandchildren, Kelsey Dietzman (Andrew) and William Peavey; and his cousins, Sue Green, Lynda Prince and Lynwood Hare.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home (545 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28301). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Jernigan - Warren Chapel. A committal service was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Lafayette Memorial Park (2301 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28301).
