He is survived by: his wife Helen Owens; his children, Robert Owens Jr. (Brenda), Roger Owens, Roderick Owens and Cassandra Owens; and his brother Hiram Owen. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the John Wesley United Methodist Church (616 Cumberland St, Fayetteville, NC 28301). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
