It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Nellie Joyce Callaway of Fayetteville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 27, 2024, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Robert Joyce and Grace Price Joyce; her husband David Martin Callaway; and her siblings, Joe, Sanford, Buddy Joyce, Nancy Dunlap and Rejane Goode.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jane Callaway Richards (Don) of Raleigh, NC, Peggy Callaway of Virginia Beach, VA and Joyce Callaway Ledbetter (Randy) of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren, Taylor Callaway Richards (Sarah Jane) of Raleigh, NC, Hannah Richards Rafidi of Wake Forest, NC, Rebecca Ledbetter of Raleigh, NC and Hope Ledbetter-Bock (Adam) of Durham, NC.; and her siblings, Douglas Joyce (Patsy) of Stoneville, NC and Brenda Allen of Greensboro, NC. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Edwards Funeral Home & Cremations (702 N Queen St, Kinston, NC 28501). A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Pinelawn Memorial Park (4488 US-70, Kinston, NC 28504). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community (1500 Sawmill Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615).
