It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Major Charles L. Davis Sr. (Fayetteville, North Carolina), who passed away on December 9, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Davis and Julia Davis (Ryder); his son-in-law David Harris of O'Fallon, MO; and his stepson Billy Ivey. He is survived by: his wife Lillie Mae Davis of Linden, NC; his children, Charles L. Davis, Jr. of Raeford, NC, Mary Lynn (Thomas Hilburn) of Hope Mills, NC, Lorrain Harris of Belton, MO and Norma (Tony Tassler) of Sanford, NC.; and his stepson Lawerence Ivey (Sandra) of Raeford, NC. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Rogers and Breece Funeral Home (500 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28301). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Rogers and Breece Chapel (500 Ramsey St, Fayetteville, NC 28301).
In lieu of flowers, donations or memorials may be made to the Vietnam Veterans Association in his honor.
