He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Jennifer Avant; his children, Earl C. Avant, Jr. (Valerie), Thomasina McKeithan (Ronald), Flossie Miranda Avant, Bernard Avant, Ronald Avant (Deborah) and Elihue Avant (Gwendolyn); and his stepdaughters, Latonya Ferrell (Joey) and Sherinita Creech. He was also cherished by two step grandchildren, 24 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
