He is survived by: his wife Barbara Willoughby-Burney of Farmville, NC; his children, William Burney Jr. of Farmville, NC, Jackie Cobb of Upper Marlboro, MD, Gayle Russell of Henderson, NC and Rhonda Burney of Farmville, NC; and his sister Cynthia Alston of Durham, NC. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
