She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Skinner Braxton; her daughter Darlene "Jo" Andrews; and her brothers, Roy Moore and Gene Moore. She is survived by: her daughters, Rachel Nichols (Lee) of Greenville and Patricia Meyer (Ken) of Grimesland; her siblings, Christine Wells of Wilson, Ruth Lovitt of Farmville, David Moore of Farmville and George Moore of Farmville; her grandchildren, Scott Nichols (Tanya), Lonnie Hemby (Sarah) and Crystal Clark; and her pet Tiny. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
