It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Ashley Vanderburg (Farmville, North Carolina), who passed away on October 30, 2018, at the age of 47, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Kenneth Vanderburg; and his stepsons, Keith Manning and Jeremy Smith. He is survived by: his wife Katie Hardee Vanderburg; his daughter Gretchen Smith; his stepdaughter Michelle Manning; his stepgrandsons, Kayden Rich and Kolton Manning; his mother Mary Jane Gurkins Vanderburg; and his cousin Matthew Gurkins. He is also survived by numerous special friends who were like brothers.
