He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Wainright and Ruth Wainright; and his siblings, Ken Wainright, Judy Harrell, Carolyn Wainright and Betty Smith.
He is survived by: his nephew James "Buddy" Davis, Jr.; his sisters, Brenda Davis of Greenville, Mamie Stokes (Jamie) of Greenville, Jeanette Reason of Robersonville and Rachel Stocks of Ayden; his close friend Carolyn Stude; his sons, Leland Wainright of Rocky Mt and Calvin Wainright; and his pets, Soprano and Jackie. He is also survived by four grandchildren; one great-grandson.
