He was predeceased by: his siblings, Patricia Ann Mewborn, Elmer E. Harrell, Mercer Gainey Harrell, J. T. Harrell, Ervin Lee Harrell and Curtis Ray Harrell.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Varnell Harrell; his son Jason Todd Harrell (Ryan Barlowe) of Farmville; his sister Juanita H. Norville of Walstonburg; and his siblings-in-law, Nannie Mae Harrell of Morehead City and Albert Ray Mewborn of Farmville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
