He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd C. Turnage and Viola Mae Blackman Turnage; and his siblings, Janice Turnage Wood, Kenneth Ray Turnage, Larry Turnage, Linwood Turnage and J. W. Turnage.

He is survived by: his wife Claudia Moore Turnage; his children, Stephanie Turnage Cameron of Farmville and Christopher Turnage (Adrienne) of Farmville; his grandchildren, Maddie Turnage of Farmville, Samantha Davis of Farmville, Thomas Turnage of Farmville and Sarah Turnage of Farmville; his siblings, Glenda Turnage Jackson (Tom) of Benson, Patricia Turnage Stanley (Leo) of Four Oaks, Carolyn Turnage Allen of Four Oaks and Lloyd C. Turnage (Rachel) of Benson; and his caregivers, Leslie Johnson, Sandra Matza and Angie Bass.
