He was predeceased by: his parents, Zell Smith and Nolia Mae Smith; his parents-in-law, Leonard and Beatrice Owens; his brother-in-law Rev. Alan Joyner; and his great-nephew Cameron Thomas Hayes.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley O. Smith; his children, Renee Wall (Bob) of Bethel, Jeff Smith (Joy) of Jamesville and Tim Smith (Melissa) of Chesterfield, VA; his grandchildren, Kylie, Easton Smith, Emma, Luke Wall, Austin, Beckett and Campbell Smith; his siblings, Janet Joyner of Fountain and John Smith (Sue) of Plymouth; and his siblings-in-law, Skip and Dot Walston of Wilson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; friends and family.
