He is survived by: his wife Adelaide Holloman; his children, Rebecca Reagan (Russ Britt) of Farmville and David Shirley (Lisa) of Apex; his grandchildren, Holly Patty (Jason) of Ogden Utah, Stephen Mace of Myrtle Beach, SC, Cameron Shirley of Mebane and Nicholas Shirley of Raleigh; his great grandchildren, Emma, Jason, Ruth and Mollie Patty; and his sister-in-law Joann Rock of Farmville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Saints Delight OFWB Church, 4679 Ormondsville Road, Ayden, NC 28513 Arrangements are by Farmville Funeral Home.
