He was predeceased by: his former wife Patricia Harrell Mewborn; and his mother Loraine Mewborn. He is survived by: his wife Sallie Jarman Mewborn; his sons, Al Mewborn (Denise) of Farmville and Ricky Mewborn of Washington; his granddaughter Crystal Mewborn of Durham; his stepchildren, Denelle Roberson (K. R.) of Ayden, Diane Davis (Gary) of Kinston, Donna Lane of Kinston and Larry Lane (Angie) of Kenly; and his sister Julia Beamon (Perry) of Farmville. He is also survived by step-grandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
