He was predeceased by: his parents, Lovelace Gardner and Odell Gardner. He is survived by: his wife Marie Worthington Gardner; his son John Thomas Gardner of Farmville; his sister Jewell Gardner Williams of Farmville; and his granddaughters, Layla and Kara Gardner.
