He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Blanton and Jean Wright Blanton of Fallston. He is survived by: his wife Sherry Allen Blanton; his daughters, Sarah-Jane Fitch (Rachid Ait Amrou) and Emily Fitch; his siblings, Bill Dunaway (Trudy), Donna McKinney, Amy Jones (Roy Jones) and Tina Rachels (Lem); his brother-in-law Ron McKinney; his aunt LaVerne Wright (Hannah Bishop) of Fallston; and his pet AbbyGayle. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
