He was predeceased by: his parents, Erastus Velector Johnson and Vernie Irene Canipe Johnson; his grandchildren, Bethany Johnson Preston and Joshua Ayers; his great grandchild Karis Barnhill; and his brothers, Quinton Johnson and Jerry Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Padgett Johnson; his children, Benita Johnson of Kings Mountain, Andrew Johnson (Karla) of Shelby, Tiffany Johnson Wright (Neil) of Kings Mountain, Tracie Johnson Sawyers (Scott) of Denver and Caryn Johnson White (Brent) of Kings Mountain; his siblings, Kenneth Johnson of Shelby, Clara Johnson of Charlotte and Marie Odom of Shelby; his grandchildren, Kendra Johnson, Kacey Phillips, Ethan Sawyers, Drew Johnson, Luke White, Arden Barnhill and Kyle Johnson; and his great grandchildren, Bradyen, Trevor, Kadence Preston, Covington, Caryngton Barnhill and Blakely Sawyers.
