He was predeceased by: his parents, William Emmett and Annie Adams Lewis; his son John Moore Lewis; and his siblings, Ella Cobb and Luther Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Moore Lewis of Faison; his children, Carol Poortvliet (Ken) of Greensboro and Doug Lewis of Faison; his grandchildren, Olivia Lake Stocks (Byrne), Will Lewis, Maggie Lewis, Jacob Lewis, Elizabeth Poortvliet and Emily Poortvliet; and his great grandchildren, Laythan Stocks and Gracie Stocks.
