She was predeceased by: her parents, Jarvis Lanier and Mary S. Jones Lanier; her husband Vernon "Bill" Smith, Jr.; and her brother Lynn Lanier. She is survived by: her sons, Dustin Smith (Angel) of Autryville, NC and Jock Smith (Kelly) of Faison; her grandchildren, Jaden Smith, Gage Smith (Danny Grace), Trey Faircloth and Noah Smith; and her brothers, Harvey Lanier (Virginia) of Kenansville and Elwood Lanier (Maxine) of Chinquapin. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
